In today’s economy, it is difficult to think about taking on any extra expenses.  This makes it hard for women who have children but do not have a college education, which is necessary to obtain a good job.  President Barack Obama has secured funding that can help these moms, whether they are single, teenagers, working or they stay at home with their kids.

It might seem impossible to go back to school and earn a degree, but it can be done. Obama’s scholarship for mom program provides government money to these women. The funding is like a dream come true because it does not have to be paid back later. This is not a student loan that is accruing interest as time goes by. Another perk of the program is that moms can take advantage of online programs that allow them to study from home and be with their families. The catch is that they will have to make sure they secure enough time to get the work done, and have enough dedication to their studies to ensure a successful graduation.

The program has become more popular and funding has grown. The Federal Pell Grant is for women in financial need, and supplies more than $5,000 to these moms for educational resources.  That amount has grown over time. Obama wants to see single moms living a successful life, meaning not at or below the poverty level.  If the applicant does not qualify for this grant, there are others out there that are available.  For example, $10,000 scholarships are given to moms who want to go back to school.  Finding the right information is key.
